I am so excited to announce we are now accepting applications for our SPRING 2020 intern here with ILP! We had a successful fall season, and we are so hopeful for the upcoming year. Ahhh!

ILP is searching for an energetic and aspiring female photographer who wants to gain experience in both the business and creative sides of managing a growing photography business.

ILPs internship program is designed for those that are just getting started in the Wedding, Quinceanera/Sweet16, general events or portrait photography industry.

  • This internship is for 3 or 6 month period.

  • This is an unpaid internship. You will gain experience and training in return.

  • College credit is available, but you do not have to be a student to apply.

  • This internship program can lead you to paid-contracted positions with our company. 

  • We also have one-on-one mentoring sessions available upon availability. During busier seasons, we charge $300/per hour mentoring sessions.

We are looking for someone who : 

  • Can commit to working 10-15 hours a week.

  • Is Proactive, motivated, dedicated, and highly detail-oriented.

  • Is An aspiring photographer who is Eager to learn, serve, and grow.

  • Is A problem solver, and someone with initiative.

  • Is teachable, humble and servant-heart.

  • Is joyful, calm and kind even in high-stress situations. 

  • Is Computer-Savvy and Familiar with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest) as well as Adobe Software (Lightroom Classic and Photoshop), and Google Docs, Dropbox. 

  • Is Available to assist at weddings or special events on weekends or weekdays. 

  • Have some understanding of DSLR photography.

  • Own a DSLR (Nikon a Plus+) 

  • Have their own laptop.

  • Have their own Transportation (to meet at least once weekly, to get to / from shoots)

  • Is familiar with our Brand.

  • Bonus ** A working knowledge of InDesign, Graphic design, Social media editing apps, Squarespace and/or 17hats.

Responsibilities : 

  • Provide onsite support to lead photographer at events and shoots by helping with lighting gear, equipment, organization, and whatever else may be needed on-site. 

  • Prepping photography gear for shoots when available. 

  • Assist with Image Editing: Categorize, cull and prepare images in lightroom for editing. There will be some opportunities to edit as well. 

  • Maintaining a record of all SD cards and Hard drives

  • Graphic and Album Design when needed. 

  • Marketing & Advertising: Assist with marketing newsletters, social media campaigns, and creating submissions for publication. 

  • Social media planning and management using Planoly App. 

  • Prepping blog posts and incorporating SEO in the website backend using Squarespace.

  • Managing client communication : New client inquiries.

  • Communicating with clients and vendors before and after the event days via email. 

  • Delivering photo galleries to existing clients and vendors. *Vendors galleries must include watermark.

  • Event Timeline Creation for clients using our pre-made templates in Google Docs.

  • Manage 17hats To-Do list and Google Calendar events. 

  • Ordering, packaging, and shipping client orders and welcome gifts to clients. 

  • Office Organization.

What you can expect to learn and gain : 

  • Understand your gear better. 

  • How to lead, second shoot or assist for an event.

  • Camera gear knowledge. 

  • Indoor and Outdoor Lighting, plus some OCF knowledge.

  • Image Editing: learning how to categorize, cull and some lightroom/photoshop skills.

  • Live Tethering. 

  • Basic website, SEO, and blog building skills.

  • Social Media and Marketing strategies. Basic social media skills for growing a brand.

  • Lead,Client and project management. 

  • Event and portrait workflow. Everything from client inquiry to client gallery delivery.

  • Contracts and discussion of legal terms.

  • Managing Business finances and filing sales/income taxes.

  • How and where to order prints/products.

  • How to Create Event timelines.

  • How to do basic graphic and album design.

  • How to serve couples, guests and vendors well.

  • How to pose and interact with clients. 

Mentoring + Portfolio Build opportunities

  • Mentoring through out the internship

  • One-on-one personal mentoring sessions with Inez each month for 2+ hours. We can cover anything from camera technique to business development as well as Feedback on your images and portfolio. This is your time!

  • Opportunities to shoot during events/portrait sessions for portfolio build.

  • 1-2 Shoots that Inez will set up for your personal portfolio build. 

  • Your Headshot by Inez.

  • How to balance business, personal, and spiritual life. #Philippians4:13
